Boost Your Coding Scheme

Learn to code and receive up to €1,000 reimbursement!

The Boost Your Coding Scheme is an initiative by the Malta Digital Innovation Authority (MDIA) designed to empower individuals aged 16 and over to pursue basic or introductory coding courses. Through financial support, participants will gain essential digital skills to thrive in today’s fast-evolving technological landscape.

Purpose and Objectives

This scheme aims to:

  • Enhance access to educational opportunities for individuals in digital literacy, particularly in coding.

  • Empower individuals to explore and acquire basic coding knowledge and skills.

  • Ensure that no one is left behind by providing financial support to develop in-demand skills and keep pace with digital transformation.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be 16 years or older.

  • Upon successful completion, participants must present a certificate of achievement or a certificate of completion (minimum 70% attendance) to receive funding.

How it Works

The steps to receive reimbursement for the Boost Your Coding Scheme are the following:

  1. Identify a basic or introductory coding course that you would like to follow. A catalogue of courses is available here.

  2. Apply here to receive confirmation of financial support – should be at least one month before course starts for courses included in the catalogue, and 3 months before course starts for courses that are not included in the catalogue to allow time for evaluation.

  3. Successfully complete the course, obtaining a certificate.

  4. Apply to claim the financial support here (deadline is within a maximum of 2 months from course completion).

For Individuals

Individuals aged 16+ may apply for financial support to attend one or more courses listed in the Boost Your Coding Catalogue. Support covers 100% of course fees, up to a maximum of €1,000. If a selected course costs less than €1,000, applicants may apply for additional courses, provided the total funding does not exceed the €1,000 cap per individual.

If an individual identifies a basic or introductory coding course they would like to follow, which is not currently included in the catalogue, they may submit the course for evaluation by applying to the Boost Your Coding Scheme with the new course information through this link, following the guidelines for the required information.

For Training Providers

Training providers who have a basic or introductory coding course which is not currently in the catalogue, which could be beneficial in the digital literacy of individuals and would like to have it evaluated for compatibility with the Boost Your Coding Scheme, can get in touch with us by sending an email to [email protected] with the following details:
